TP-Link today took the wraps off of two new Wi-Fi 6 routers, both aimed at the hitting lower price points than other Wi-Fi 6 routers on the market.
The new Archer AX3000 and AX1500 both incorporate 802.11ax Wi-Fi, which comes with several benefits over the previous Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) standard. While Wi-Fi 6 is still just starting to make its way to devices, it has the added benefit of reducing congestion, increasing speeds, and better managing more devices connected to a network.
The Archer AX3000 is the more capable of the two. The router is powered by a dual core Intel processor and carries a throughput of 2,402 Mbps on the 5GHz band and 547 Mbps on the 2.4GHz band. It also comes with five Gigabit Ethernet ports and one USB port.
The Archer AX1500, meanwhile, comes with a 1.5GHz triple-core CPU and can handle up to 1,201 Mbps on the 5GHz band and up to 300 Mbps on the 2.4GHz band. You’ll also get five Gigabit Ethernet ports here.
The Archer AX3000 and AX1500 will be available “next week” exclusively at Walmart for $70 and $130, respectively.
