PC shipments were up at least 1.5 percent in the second quarter of 2019. Gartner and IDC released estimates for shipments in that time (via VentureBeat). As they are estimates, there is variation between the reports, but both indicate overall PC shipment growth in the second quarter of this year.
Gartner estimates that 63 million devices were shipped in Q2 2019; a 1.5 percent increase. The leading PC makers according to Gartner were Lenovo, HP, Dell, Apple, and Acer. Lenovo led the quarter with a 25 percent market share, and HP was second at 22.2 percent.
IDC has a higher estimate of 64.9 million devices shipped in Q2 2019. The market share rankings were slightly different, with Lenovo leading the pack followed by HP, Dell, Acer, and Apple. The top five is the same as Gartner’s estimates but Acer and Apple swapped spots. Both reports have Acer and Apple within half a percent of each other.
